Redcastle Hotel’s Gerry McKeever is well known among guests and staff due to his genuine warmth and his permanent smile. He has the honour of welcoming all the guests and bridal parties, but his welcome does not stop at just the tip of his hat, Gerry has a wealth of knowledge about the hotel and local area.  This experience has been gained from his 9 years of loyal Redcastle Hotel service. And because of his dedication to the job and his continuing drive for high standards and customer care Gerry has been accepted as a member of the prestigious Les Clef d’Or Association (The Golden Keys).

The lapels of his suit now bear the prestigious Gold Keys and there can be no doubt that he is a member of Les Clef d'Or, the international association of the best concierges in the world. The organization was formed in 1929 as a way for concierges in London to connect with their Parisian colleagues to offer guests exceptional experiences. Les Clef d'Or has nowadays almost 4,000 professional concierges from across the globe being a symbol of devotion, knowledge and quality service.

The requirements to become a member of the Golden Keys are really strict. A minimum of 6 years unbroken service is mandatory as well as training courses and aptitude tests. Gerry received his Golden Keys and the accrediting certificate in a ceremony this March making him the only concierge in the Northwest of Ireland with such recognition.

Speaking about this honour Gerry said:  ‘It means the world to me. People visit this hotel from all over the globe and I love meeting with our guests and offering them the best experience they can possible have to help them to create happy memories during their stay. This area is stunning with so much to see and do and it is an honour to be able to promote the beautiful Inishowen. Becoming a member of Les Clef d’Or is a truly great honour. It’s an extra step for me although I’m still the old Gerry at the end of the day but a Gerry with a top hat.’
