Day 1 - Derry
The Museum of Free Derry
The Museum of Free Derry is the people’s story of government oppression, the struggle for civil rights, the descent into conflict, Free Derry and Bloody Sunday. The main signature project of the Bloody Sunday Trust remains the Museum of Free Derry. The Museum of Free Derry opened in 2007 in order to tell the story of what happened in the city during the period 1968 – 1972, popularly known as ‘Free Derry’, and including the civil rights era, Battle of the Bogside, Internment, Bloody Sunday and Operation Motorman. -  The Museum of Free Derry

The Peace Bridge
Just a short walk from the Guildhall and the City’s famous 400+ year-old Walls, the Peace Bridge is a visual treat and a vital stop on any Derry/Londonderry and Northern Ireland travel itinerary. It opened on 25 June 2011, connecting Ebrington Square with the rest of the city centre. The 235 metres (771 ft) bridge was designed by AECOM, who also designed the Sutong Yangtze River Bridge, and Wilkinson Eyre Architects, who also designed the Gateshead Millennium Bridge. Malin Head - Ireland’s most northerly point
Malin Head with Bren Whelan Malin Head is Ireland’s most northerly point, marking the beginning or the end of the Wild Atlantic Way. An area of great scenic beauty with historical, scientific, and ecological importance. The Malin Head linear trail (1.5km) brings you around the coast to Banba’s Crown where a derelict building known as The Tower, was once used as a signal station connecting America and Europe. Lunch at Nancy’s Barn, a 19th century barn which houses a quirky and award-winning café and restaurant. Owned by a local man Kieran Doherty who is winner of both an All-Ireland and World Award for his seafood chowder. When asked what’s the secret? Glenevin Waterfall
Located near Nancy’s Barn, Ballyliffin, a visit to Glenevin Waterfall makes you feel like you’ve reached the heart of the woodland’s ecosystem. The walk to the waterfall takes around 25 minutes or so and it follows a nice flat path.There are also picnic areas available, a toilet on-site (in the car park) and a snack/coffee truck that’s there during the busier months. Fort Dunree
Fort Dunree Fort Dunree, Dun Fhraoigh in Irishmeans, “Fort of the Heather” and indicates that this site has been an important defensive site down through history. Today however, its stunning natural beauty and abundant wildlife are drawing increasing numbers of visitors to one of Inishowen’s most beautiful and peaceful locations. Under Failte Ireland’s‘ Platforms for Growth Investment Grants Scheme for Heritage and Cultural Attractions,’ Fort Dunree was awarded €12.5m to develop a world-class visitor experience. The investment will unlock regional dispersal of visitors and extend the tourism season in Donegal beyond the summer months. Explore the Museum and visit the Laurentic Memorial which sits naturally within the landscape at Dunree. From the sculpture there is a clear view across the bay where the Laurentic lies. At the base of the mast is a low circular stone wall and a compass rose made of sandblasted granite divided into 360 degrees, carrying the names of each of the men who lost their lives. https://www.fortdunree.com

Grianán of Aileach
Depart The Redcastle Oceanfront Golf &S pa Hotel and makes their way to Grianán of Aileach in their own vehicles. ***10:00 Grianán of Aileach Situated on a hilltop 250m above sea level the view from the stone fort of Aileach is breath taking. Perched 800 ft. above sea level on a spectacular hilltop, Grianán of Aileach fort is a former home of the Irish High Kings. The origins of this circular site are believed to date from around 1700BC.
