The Redcastle Oceanfront, Golf & Spa Hotel, in Inishowen, Donegal is celebrating their second AA Rosette Award for The Edge Restaurant. The Rosette scheme has long been established and successfully recognises cooking at different levels in the UK and Ireland. The success or failure in achieving Rosettes is based on an onsite AA Hospitality inspection to a hotel or restaurant.
The award also highlights the consistent skills and expertise of a hotel Head Chef’s as well as their care and attention to quality ingredients. The AA Hospitality inspector said that The Edge restaurant “revealed a fine balance between formality and friendliness”.
And he followed: “For Rosette Awards it is the food that is key; I particularly enjoyed the fact that so much of the menu is based on quality produce from the region, cooked with care and flair.”
“All of the dishes were very accurately cooked, with great fresh flavours. Indeed, it was difficult to choose from the well compiled menu, featuring so much of what is best in the larder that is the North West”, he concluded.
Regarding this fantastic achievement, Gordon Smyth, Head Chef at the Edge Restaurant, stated: “It is an honour to receive a second AA Rosette. This recognition has certainly put The Edge Restaurant in the map, joining the exclusive list of 49 dining establishments across Ireland worthy of two Rosettes.
