Ciara and Kevin McLaughlin got engaged in 2019 at the K Club in Kildare. “Kevin proposed at the fountain, it was so romantic… I was not expecting it at all!”, says Ciara. Sixteen months later, on 19th September 2020, they tied the knot at the Redcastle Hotel in Donegal.
When asked why they picked The Redcastle Hotel as their wedding venue, they both agree: “We went on a search for venues and viewed other locations, but as soon as we saw Redcastle… We were so happy with the package and the staff were all so lovely! Not to mention the amazing view.”
The search of a venue is different for every couple. Ciara and Kevin were looking for something that made them feel “like home” and, when they set foot at The Redcastle Hotel, they got that feeling “straight away”.
As for many other wedding couples this year, their wedding plans were hugely affected by the Coronavirus outbreak. Ciara and Kevin were meant to get married on 29th August 2020 with 200 guests but ended up getting married on 19th September with 45 guests which, they confess, “ended up being better than we could ever had imagined”.

“We wanted something a little different due to covid-19 and we got it”. Their guests loved the set up and décor, but top of their list there was something else:
“Our guests kept telling us that the food was the best wedding dinner they’ve ever had, and indeed it was!”
If they got married again, would they change anything? “Not a thing, it was perfect!
